Linen has a natural texture that may feel coarse at first, but it softens significantly over time. With regular use and washing, it becomes more relaxed and comfortable. Many people love that it never feels overly slick or synthetic, although linen pillowcases may need a few washes before they feel comfortable enough against the hair and skin (although organic linen pillowcases are softer).

The best way to soften linen is simply to use and wash it regularly. Each wash helps relax the fibers naturally. Skipping fabric softeners and opting for gentle drying will help maintain both softness and durability.
