Every Naturepedic mattress passes all government flammability requirements without ANY flame retardant chemicals or barriers. That's right – none at all! This is due to our smart organic mattress design and the elimination of highly flammable synthetics such as polyurethane foam.

It's really hard to find a mattress without glue. Even "organic mattresses" often contain several pounds of industrial adhesives, especially in their coil systems. At Naturepedic, we've engineered custom processes that do not use glue or adhesives. We're 100% committed to chemical safety – and honesty!
NO POLYURETHANE FOAM
Polyurethane foam, including memory foam and all its variants, can be found in nearly all conventional mattresses. It's made primarily from petroleum and other chemicals and is highly flammable. At Naturepedic, we do not use polyurethane foam in any of our products.

How is the Verse different from the 2-in-1?
The Verse Organic Kids Mattress is a great option for older kids, while the Organic 2-in-1 Kids Mattress is perfect for potty-training younger children. The 2-in-1 features a hybrid design with a comfy, quilted side and a wipe-clean waterproof side – switching over is as easy as flipping the mattress. The Verse features an upgraded individually encased coil system that is more comfortable for older kids and can support more weight. However, the Verse does not have the waterproof side. The 2-in-1 also comes in a lower profile 7", which works better with many bunk beds, as compared to the Verse at 9" thickness. The 2-in-1 is also available in a 6" trundle. Both mattresses are GOTS certified and come with a 100-night sleep trial and a 25-year limited warranty. How is the Verse Kids Mattress different from the Chorus Organic Mattress?
The Verse Organic Kids Mattress is our most basic organic mattress. Made without flame retardants, polyurethane or memory foams, or glues, it's constructed with individually encased coils and layers of organic cotton and organic wool. The Chorus Organic Mattress is an upgrade as it includes a layer of microcoils which provides a softer feel. The Chorus is more of a "medium" firmness whereas the Verse is considered "firm."
What age is best to transition your child from a crib to a twin mattress?
Children can start using a twin mattress anywhere from about 18 months to three years old. Every child is different, but a couple things to be mindful of include the ability of your child to climb out of their crib and the newfound freedom they will have to get out of bed whenever they want! Is the Verse Organic Kids Mattress safe for a bunk bed?
Yes. The Verse Organic Kids Mattress can be a great option for bunk beds. However, if your bunk bed railing is low, we recommend the trundle-sized 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress to reduce the chance of a fall.
How firm is the Verse Organic Kids Mattress?
The Verse is a firm yet comfortable mattress. Its firmness follows recommendations for kids' developing bones.
Do I need a foundation/box spring with the Verse Organic Kids Mattress?
No. The purpose of a foundation is to support the mattress above it and to bring the surface of the mattress to a height that is comfortable for getting in and out of bed. If you have a bed that comes with a supportive platform at the correct height, there is no need for a foundation. If your platform is made of slats, please ensure that the spacing between slats is no more than 3" apart. Slats that are spaced too far apart can create grooves in the bottom of the mattress over time.
Do I need a waterproof protector pad?
We highly recommend using an organic waterproof mattress protector pad with your Verse mattress. Keeping your mattress dry and free from oil, sweat, and dirt will protect your investment for many years.
