The Savona Trundle is made from real hardwood along with FSC®-certified plywood and white oak veneer in select structural areas. It’s built without MDF or OSB and finished with a low-VOC, water-based coating that meets GREENGUARD® Gold certification standards for low chemical emissions (and meets FDA standards for food-contact surfaces!).
What’s the difference between veneer and solid wood?
Solid wood is a single piece of natural wood, while veneer is a thin layer of real wood applied to a plywood base for added stability. The Savona Kids Trundle Bed incorporates FSC®-certified white oak veneer in select areas to enhance durability while maintaining the look and feel of solid wood furniture.
What’s the difference between the trundle and the trundle with divider?
The standard trundle is made to hold a mattress, offering a convenient extra sleep space for guests or sleepovers. The trundle with divider version transforms the interior into a large under-bed drawer with built-in compartments, ideal for organizing clothes, toys or linens.
Can the trundle be used with any bed?
The Savona Trundle is specifically designed to fit under the Savona Kids Bed and may not be compatible with beds from other collections or brands.
Does the trundle include a mattress?
No, the trundle does not include a mattress. For the best fit, we recommend a low-profile mattress (around 6" high) to ensure it slides in and out with ease. (Our 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress is a great organic option!)
What size mattress fits the Savona Trundle Bed?
The Savona Trundle is designed to fit a trundle short mattress, which is shorter than a standard twin. Standard twin mattresses will not fit properly. For the best fit and function, we recommend using a mattress specifically labeled as “trundle short” or one that measures approximately 38" x 71" (our 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress is a great organic option!). This ensures smooth operation and a safer sleep space for your child or guests.
