Featuring a comfy layer of certified organic cotton batting and luxurious organic cotton fabric, this bassinet mattress will help your precious newborn fall asleep and stay asleep. The removable machine-washable cover is breathable with a three-dimensional fabric structure for safety and comfort. It also features a waterproof backing so no extra protector pad is necessary (sheets optional). This helps ensure the your baby's bassinet remains fresh and clean even after spit-ups, leaky diapers, and other messes. A spare breathable cover is recommended. The mattress offers firm support and an allergy-friendly design too! NO polyurethane foam, memory foam, flame retardants, vinyl/PVC, phthalates and more. Use as a replacement bassinet mattress only – never stack on top of an existing mattress.

Additional GOTS approved accessories include polypropylene for the interlinings. The breathable cover uses elastane elastic band and polyester thread for strength and durability. Please note that the cover as a standalone product is not certified organic.

According to airflow tests, a breathable design may increase safety by allowing air to flow more freely around the baby. The breathable cover features a soft organic cotton face and a 3-dimensional polyester lattice structure that allows air to flow through the fabric and under the baby for 360° air circulation. Since air is able to pass freely through the cover’s 3D structure, babies can breathe right through it! Breathable mattresses may also improve comfort. Babies tend to cry more when they're uncomfortable and airflow under the baby allows heat to dissipate more efficiently, helping regulate temperature for less sweaty backs.

The breathable function is encapsulated in a washable cover that completely hugs the mattress. This removable layer has a waterproof backing that keeps the mattress clean and protected from urine, spit-up, and other messes. In the event of an accident, simply replace with a spare cover or put the baby back to sleep on the fully functional underlying mattress. The cover can then be machine washed and dried at your convenience.
